What Matters Most (from Purpose Driven Life. My 2nd topic on Cell group)

"What Matters Most”

“Love means living the way God commanded us to live. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is this: Live a life of love”
(2 John 1:6)

Because GOD is love, the most important lesson he wants you to learn on earth is how to love. It is in loving that we are most like him, so love is the foundation of every command he has given us.

Learning to love unselfishly is not an easy task. That’s why we’re given a lifetime to learn it.

Show special love for God’s people. Paul echoes this sentiment:When we have the opportunity to help anyone, we should do it. But we should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers

“Your strong love for each other will prove to the world that you are my disciple”

God trains us to practice loving each other. Love cannot be learned in isolation. You have to be around people – irritating, imperfect, frustrating people.

Three important truths about love:

1.     The Best Use of Life is Love

Life is all about love. Love should be your top priority, objective, and greatest ambition. Love is not a good part of your life; it’s the most important part. “Let love be your greatest aim” (1 Corinthians 14:1)

©     Life without love is really worthless
“No matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love” (1 Corinthians 13:3).
Jesus summarized what matters most to God in two statements: “love God and love people”
©     Busyness is a great enemy of relationships
©     Love will last forever (eternal)
“These three things continue forever: faith, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love”
Mother Teresa said, “It’s not what you do, but how much love you put into that matters”
©     We will be evaluated on our love
One of the ways God measures spiritual maturity is by the quality of your relationships. “God will review how you treated other people, particularly those in need

2.     The Best Expression of Love is Time

Time is your most precious gift because you only have a set amount of it.
When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you’ll never get back. Your time is your life. That is why the greatest gift you can give to someone is your time. “My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action” (1 John 3:18)
“You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving”

3.     The Best Time to love is Now

“Whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone.” “Use every chance you have for doing good.” “Whenever you possibly can, do good to those who need it. Never tell your neighbor to wait until tomorrow if you can help them now”
“If you want to express love, you had better do it now”

Knowing that one day you will stand before God, here are some questions you need to consider:
o   How will you explain those times when projects or things were more important to you than people?
o   Who do you need to start spending more time with?
o   What do you need to cut out of your schedule to make that possible?
o   What sacrifices do you need to make?

When you wake up every morning, kneel down and pray this:
“God, whether I get anything else done today, I want to make sure that I spend time loving you and loving other people – because that’s what life is all about. I don’t want to waste this day.”

“The best use of life is love. The best expression of love is time. The best time to love is now”

"How to Deal with the Unexpected trial" (My 1st topic on our Cellgroup)

Last December 2013, our circle of friends decided to have our own Cell group/Bible study. Each of us will be assigned every week to lead the entire group for the bible study.

Below was my 1st topic for Bible study.
(I searched on google to have an idea of what will be a good topic to discuss for our bible study)

“How to Deal with the Unexpected Trial"

Have you ever found yourself wondering?
Why did this happen right now?”
or “Why did this happen so soon?”

Some of the trials of life are easily expected as they lurk in the foreground- and this makes them a bit more manageable in some respects.
Though certain hardships are just plain tough. No matter how far you know in advance.
Then, that other category sneaks up on us.
You know the one- the unexpected.

The surprise that wasn’t so sweet.
The phone call that sent a panic into our veins.
The news that was far from pleasant.

They aren’t pretty. They come from nowhere and before you know it, you’ve been blindsided. You didn’t see it coming and it’s too late to attempt to do anything about it. The injury has been sustained. The news has been delivered. The clock has struck and there is no turning back the time to yesterday.

Your spirit is wounded and dried up to the point of feeling nonexistent yet the ache does not go away. You can hardly believe it is true.

5 Biblical truths to claim when you need to know how to deal with the unexpected

1. God knows the best place for me in this moment.
For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock. Psalm 27:5

2. God will provide His strength to get me through this situation.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Psalm 46:1-3

3. God will hear me when I pray to Him.
In my distress I called upon the LORD; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears. Psalm 18:6

4. God has worked wonders in the past and will do it again.
I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples. Psalm 77:11&14

5. God has a plan for everything that happens in our lives.
The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights in his way;though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the LORD upholds his hand. Psalm 37:23

God uses problems to Examine you.
God uses problems to Lead you in the right Direction.
God uses problems to Discipline you.
God uses problems to Shield you from greater harm.
God uses problems to Refine and Improve you.

GOD BLESS!

Study Table

As you can see in the photo (obviously), I have a small study table (sorry for the messy random papers below the table). But then, I don't usually use my study table 'cause I prefer to sit and study on my bed which I feel more comfy.

Just a closer overview of my study table

This slide table where I put my bible, qt note, my accounting notebook & calculator for my study.

Right side of my table where I put those essential things which I use during school days: Small pink mirror which I bought for a cheap price Php.50.00, I think. Hand sanitizer, sophie & estee lauder lipstick, eye lashes curler, BB cream (I rarely use), face powder, VS Bombshell body mist perfume (I don't even try this 'cause I'm allergic to some perfume), etc.

Left side of table: Oh, those savings jar (Give,Save,Live & Adventure Jar: will post another blog entry for this). The small round basket where I put random pens and other school essentials. And those accessories and candy's :)

I have this random pictures above my stable table, will put more pics on it.

Thank You :)
P.S. This Blog is more on photo.
